Heading off to the Tasmanian Craft Fair on Thursday

Usual rush to get things finished for TCF, after a busy 2 months working on my Illustrator’s portfolio. I did register with Margret Lamond for a portfolio review and am working on the premise that ‘no news is good news’ as I am due to hear back on that work. I used the fairytale ‘Hansel and Gretel’ for my narrative and it was good to do the exercise of looking at composition and lighting. Some images are on Instagram, but it did get me going and consequently submitted to ASA Style File and the Mentorship Awards with new work. Some experimentation with digital images which can be quite exciting but as with most things takes some practice. My new poster also took some research, ‘How does a bird breathe?’ to go with my ‘How a bird’s egg is made’. Both fascinating topics and wonderful to learn of the amazing work Mother Nature does. Just have to get that image on the website….my next project. On my trip up north this week, I plan to visit the Seahorse Aquarium at Beauty Point…mainly to see the weedy sea dragon which is a favourite to paint. There is life after the Fair, and my list of ‘to do’s is long!
